Set within the historic surroundings of Forest Hills Gardens in Queens, this apartment renovation brings a fresh perspective to a residence rooted in New York's architectural past.
The design balances preservation with reinvention, retaining and restoring original architectural details while introducing a more open, functional, and personal approach to contemporary living.
A restrained architectural backdrop provides space for expressive furnishings, collected objects, warm wood tones, and unexpected moments of color. In the kitchen, tailored cabinetry, richly veined stone, and carefully considered brass details introduce a sense of quiet refinement without compromising the apartment's original character.
Throughout the residence, the intention was not to erase its history, but to build upon it—creating a home that feels layered, welcoming, and distinctly individual.
